September 05, 2003

(Dallas, September 5, 2003) - Lennox International Inc. (NYSE:  LII) announced two new management assignments in its heating and cooling business segment which will take effect immediately.  Daniel L. Seaman has been named vice president and general manager, Distributed Heating and Cooling Products.  In this role, he will be responsible for Armstrong Air Conditioning, Allied Air Enterprises, and Excel Comfort Systems.  Wendy Howells has been named vice president and general manager, Lennox Hearth Products (LHP), replacing Seaman.

The management changes were a result of the recent promotion of Mike Schwartz, who formerly headed the distributed products group, to president and COO, worldwide refrigeration.

"In addition to their extensive industry experience before joining LII, both Wendy and Dan have already achieved impressive results in their time with our company," said Bob McDonough, president and COO, worldwide heating and cooling, LII.  "We're fortunate to have such highly qualified people to take over the leadership of these two important divisions of our business."

Dan Seaman

Seaman joined LHP in May, 2002 and quickly led an impressive turnaround, achieving significant improvements in sales, market penetration, working capital, and profitability.  "Under Dan's leadership, the LHP team's initiatives for sales growth, variable and fixed cost reduction, and operational improvement have been key factors in that division's turnaround." McDonough said.  "Dan's extensive background in Lean manufacturing and multi-plant operations also make him an excellent fit for his new role."

Prior to joining LII, Seaman was president of Thermasys Heat Transfer, a multi-division heat transfer company .  He has also held significant operations and plant management assignments with Ranco North America, the Jacobs Chuck Manufacturing Company, and Cummins Engine Company.  He has served as a consultant, both independently and with Coopers & Lybrand, assisting companies with Lean manufacturing initiatives.

Wendy Howells

With 20 years of HVAC industry experience, Wendy Howells has developed a proven track record in leadership roles with Excel Comfort Systems, State Industries, Teledyne Laars, and Carrier Corporation.  Her LII career began in 2000 when she joined Excel Comfort Systems as vice president and general manager.  "Wendy has proven her ability to motivate field, factory and headquarters personnel to work toward common goals and objectives, and has achieved proven results in complex, cross-functional management environments," McDonough said.  'These skills will prove vital to LII as we continue to improve and grow our LHP division."
